This could be the answer for something a little different

Most visitors on Czech Republic vacations never see beyond the capital, Prague, even though vacations here are becoming increasingly popular.

The Czech Republic is divided into two geographical regions, Bohemia and Moravia. The Bohemia region is most popular with its capital, Prague, a favourite destination with tourists. The Moravia region, whose capital is Brno, is explored by less than 10% of the country's visitors.

Brno is the second most important city in the Republic and tourists come here to appreciate the natural beauty, forests and vineyards, some come for the cycling, and there are a number of theatres and museums. Not as popular as Prague, but worth seeing.

If you really want to take things easy, this is the place :

Czech Republic vacations are not for those seeking beaches, as the country is landlocked, sharing borders with Austria to the south, Slovakia to the east, Poland to the north and Germany to the northwest.

Prague is extremely popular with its stunning architecture, grand cathedrals and vibrant nightlife with music ranging from opera to rock.

The old towns, rich in architecture, castles, villages, spa towns and dinner cruises along the Vltava River are what you come here for.

There are over one hundred castles divided between the two regions, and Karlstejn Castle and Konopiste Chateau are popular day trips.

Karlstejn Castle, built in the 14th century to protect the Roman Empire's crown jewels, is the most visited and a 30-minute train ride from Prague.

Outdoor enthusiasts have lots to do :

Outdoor types will find plenty to do with golf, mountain climbing, horse riding, extreme sports, hiking trails and cycling routes. Fishing is also a popular pastime on Czech Republic vacations, and there are some very good fishing packages available all year round for keen anglers.

Shopping has come a long way in the Czech Republic with plenty of malls, hypermarkets and department stores, and when the shopping is over you can choose from an unlimited number of excellent bars and restaurants to relax with a Czech beer and typical European cuisine.

Czech Republic vacations are good value for money.
